Capital FM Capital FM RM94's Hyperfixations
What is it?

Capital FM was originally a singular station being broadcated on 95.8FM in London until it became a UK-wide radio network in 2011, buying out Galaxy Radio & The One Network. The group of stations are currently the No.1 Commercialised Hit-Music Station.

When did you develop an interest to it and how?

I first heard of the station back in 2012 when it was commonly tuned to throughout car journeys when visiting my grandparents up in Wales, whereas my family was stated in Wiltshire at the time. The mixture of music and memorable DJs stuck with me.

Why does this interest me in general?

The overall station and the mixture of music is why I keep returning back to the station. It feels like a moreorless british version of Los Angeles's 102.7 KIIS-FM, even right down to the jingles they currently use sharing the same sonic logo, from Reelworld oddly enough. I also really love the playlist imaging that was made by Music4 from the early 2000s. But, as of today, I've grown rather fond of the overall station and I do hope it does become more successful and becomes furtherly established as an icon of UK radio history. Keepin' it Capital, Baby!
