Galaxy was originally a radio network spanning across 6 different local stations from Manchester, Yorkshire, Scotland, Birmingham and North East England from the late 90's to the early 2010's being one of the many stations overtaken and rebranded to Capital FM.

Similar to Air, I also discovered the station from my online friend, Wodienfor. After listening to some airchecks and imaging from the era out of interest, the overall idea of a UK Dance and RnB music station in the UK stuck to me in a similar way Netherland's Radio 538 did.

Galaxy is similar in ways to Trouble that I can understand, with it being more of a rebelious and lads-like station that was extremely unique for the time. Being more out there and providing their audience with music that was unheard of and immensively different at the time was one of the reasons why I clung onto the station, despite me never having the chance to hear it on air, as I was too young for its target audience for its time. But from what I have found from it, it must have been a brilliant station to grow up with. Live long and prosper, Galaxy. Hope you will one day get another chance to shine.
