The Wave was a radio staion that broadcasted across South-West Wales on 96.4FM. The station played a mixture of Hot AC music with local news, weather and presenters. The station was bought out and terraformed into Hits Radio South Wales throughout the 2020's.

This station was the main station that my family listened to, which then got me heavily interested in the station as a result. It was during a time of uncertainty with moving to Wales, but I did come to terms with the culture and this station was a core element of it.

I think we've all grown up with at least one local radio station when we were younger, right? Well, this was mine. I still remember all of their jingels from 2012 onwards. From Music4 to Wisebuddah, they're still rattling in my head to this day. Not to mention some of the presenters. Badger and Emma, Leigh & Claire with their breakfast shows, Siany with Friday Nights, Jamie Pritchard on Drivetime, it was honestly nice to hear voices from somewhere local, gives you a sense of belonging, right? You know how you don't miss things until they're gone? Well, that's sort of why I love it. I really do miss it, but hey, there's always Swansea Bay Radio. It's the next best thing.
