what is it?

Thorpe Park is a theme park resort located in south-west London, home of feel good thrills and record breaking coasters. Opened in 1979, it's home to a number of rides including the 10-inversion coaster Colossus & Hyperia, the tallest, fastest coaster in the UK.

when and how?

During my visit there in July 2025, I fell in love with the adrenaline-filled coasters and the overall bright branding of the park. In short, it completely blew all of my expectations away. Will be planning my next visit there as you are reading this rn.

why's it interesting?

I didn't originally thing much of it, as I thought it was an "Alton Towers Lite", so to speak. However, on first visit, I was completely wowed on how much there was to do. Hyperia was brilliant (got to go on there TWICE), Colossus was loadsa fun and Nemesis Inferno was amazing as a spiritual-successor to the one in Alton Towers. It was just a swell time in the island of Thorpe. The newer logo has been something of a controversial talking point, but I think it's fine. Not good, but fine. The branding, however, just oozes that energy that I love. Bright colours, bright patterns and an amazing soundtrack just colvinates together towards an image of pure adrenaline. Good stuff.
