Year: 2021

Client: Feckarse / Flextech

In 2021, I was approached by a pirate TV community, Feckarse, to develop the branding for their reboot of Flextech's flagship youth channel, Trouble. Building upon what was available at the time, the basis was built upon Robot Productions' 2002-2005 ident package involving a 3D logo across a striped background, alongside their 2D 2001 work. This mixture of era's allowed the brand to expand beyond what it was originally capable of within the 00's.

The rebrand heavily involves the central ringed "T" logo, meshing elements of simplistic 3D and 2D elements to bring forth a bright and recognizable look. Approximately 30 bumpers were created for the channel, ranging from generic to specially crafted bumpers based on events and special premieres. The lack of colour scheme, whilst unintentional, does open the brand to explore its bright environment of teenhood.

Promotional material were also produced to be as flexible as possible. Not tied down to any restrictive colour scheme, the brand essentially allocated the colours for each program based on it's logo or overall vibe. No colour restrictions to help match the theme of the brand being non-conormist towards any set looks or color wheel. The only thing connecting the brand to others, is the (T) logo.

Promotional Material

A wide range of television assets were produced to help with keeping the original brand as accurate as possible, whilst leaving room open for experimentation and improvements towards other concepts and other "T-clusive" shows on the air. These included content warnings, holding slides, on-air promos, music graphics and even news graphics.

Promotional Material

Overall, the project deemed to be a moderate success, with the channel gaining over 160 views on it's initial launch, from avid tellyheads and past viewers of the channel alike. Despite the overall inconsistencies with branding and research, the branding project was a hit with other members of the community as well, noting the sleek y2k visual style of the channel and its inclusion of many past shows including Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Moesha, That 70's Show and even newer fresh faces such as Clone High, Georgie Shore and special network premieres of Bel-Air and Stranger Things.
